Telling my secrets, part one

I went away with my friend Sally last weekend. Truth is, I've wanted to tell her for a while a bit about the lifestyle we've chosen to live. As we had been talking about her wanting to sleep with other people, I decided to tell her about thing things Sean and I have been talking about recently. She already knew, somehow, that I like women so I went on to tell her that we were thinking about "getting a girlfriend". At first, there was a little surprise, but soon after there was something else... something like jealousy.

Our conversation carried on into the small hours and, as late night conversations do, the topic of sex carried on being the main theme. Sally and I talked about our recent meet ups as two couples, and we discovered that there was a lot of flirtation there. There always has been, and we all love it. We've always joked about two or more of us going off to another room and getting it on. Sally and I wondered about this and I finally said what we'd both been thinking: "How serious are you about the flirting and sleeping with one of us?"

There was silence for a while. I started to wish I had never said anything, that I had just gone to sleep. Then she said "Well, I don't know. Can I be blunt?" I nodded in the darkness, she carried on "I don't think it's all just fun. I think I'm quite serious about it all". I rolled over to face her. Just what did she mean? She said, "do you think we actually could -" she paused, not wanting to say more in case I didn't want to know. I didn't know what to say, I didn't know exactly what she was implying. She rolled over on to her back, breaking eye contact with me. Well, this was a little awkward...

Our new toy

Some time over the Christmas vacation, Sean and I decided to spend the left overs of the money we've made from our PleasureSensor ad (most of the money went on hosting BlogStormz!) and browsed the toy site looking for something that would make me feel better about masturbation. I've never owned a vibrator before, and I've often wondered what I've been missing out on. Sean had seemed to have a re-think about his anti-toy feelings so in the end we settled on The Silencer. You could say we took the advice of an anonymous commentator ("oh, get a toy!") to heart and decided to take the plunge. If we didn't like it, it could just sit in the drawer hidden away, right?

The thinking behind getting the silencer was two-fold. First, from its description it seemed to be about the same size as Sean's (my) little friend. Second, it was supposedly both silent and powerful. The idea was that because I already didn't feel comfortable in my own company, having a toy that made a loud buzz would be even worse. Oh, and it was pink! Can't forget that...

So we hit order (and at the price of £14.99 we thought we might as well buy some toy cleaner so that we'd ultimately save on delivery (therefore saving the most money)) and waited. The package arrived almost the next day.

That very night we took it out of its packaging and popped in the batteries. It truly is silent. I was very surprised at just how wonderful it feels, and it delights Sean as he enjoys the mechanical thing. I had never imagined that it could properly please me both inside and out (my clitoris has always been sensitive and I usually give up trying to achieve clitoral orgasm on my own). Since our first night our pink friend has come out to play several times, each time bringing us both pleasure.

Yes. Life is good at the moment :)

Long time no see... er... type...

Hi guys! Wow, it's been a long time, hasn't it? Just a note to say that all is well. I've been trying to get on here to write something for a few days, but never made it through the '500 server errors'...

As you can see, I've finally migrated over to the new version of Blogger. It'll take a while for me to settle in and re-work the template. *fingers crossed for that one*

What have we been up to over the last month? Well, following my appalling attempt at Masturbation Monday in December Sean made a suggestion that came as a surprise... We got a toy.

More details to follow Sunday night...

Masturbation Monday #1

A while ago Sean came across the term "Masturbation Monday" and ever since has been sure to ask me to masturbate him each Monday. This has been rather enjoyable and has, in some way, brought me closer to him. Around a week and a half ago, Sean decided that perhaps I should masturbate myself, so last Monday was my first time. He had previously told me that I should take some time to myself, relax, find something that turns me on and just go with the flow. That sounded wonderful.

Monday quickly approached and I managed to keep my mind off of the deed for most of the day. That is, until the evening. As soon as Sean realised the day of the week, the porn was playing on the PC, he was sat at the desk with his jeans round his ankles and I was sat by his feet. We browsed around X-Tube for a bit ("How do you know about that?" Sean asked me. Well, I am the admin over at BlogStormz!... I'm therefore 'in the know' when it comes to free adult sites...) and quickly found something that Sean liked. I sat at his feet, shyly touching myself, not making much noise. All of a sudden I felt like I was sat up on a pedestal, with an audience. Not my idea of a relaxing time. Sean carried on browsing, stopping now and then at a clip he liked. He often asked me if I liked what we were watching - trying to get me to open up about what I wanted to see. I didn't want to say that I liked the clip showing a double penetration from behind. I felt too flustered, too embarrassed, and in a way turned off by the attention Sean was giving me. I wanted to go and hide in the bedroom with one of my naughty books and flick quickly to a chapter I knew would get me hot.

Masturbation has never been my forte. Perhaps because I've been with Sean since I was 14 - around the age that I expect most teens start experimenting. Because Sean was making me hot anyway, I didn't feel the need to masturbate that often. And when I did it was a very quick, unsatisfying affair that ended with no orgasm because I caused myself to be too sensitive to touch. That's what it still is to me. And I desperately need to overcome it. I sometimes wonder if it'd be better if I had some kind of toy to help me, but I realise I need the basics first before advancing to that weird and wonderful world.

So my first Masturbation Monday ended with Sean's sperm over my boobs, which I enjoyed by the way, and no orgasm for me. Not that I really tried. This Monday I'm on my period (I have been on for three Christmases in a row now, damnit), so my next Masturbation Monday will be the 1st. Hopefully, I'll be seeing in the New Year as I mean to go on!

Rules, rules, rules...

I believe a good D/s relationship has communication at its foundations. As Sean and I are still new to it all (although, saying that, we've been "in the lifestyle" for at least a year now), changes in our relationship are to be expected. It's with that in mind that I am posting up our rules again, as there have been additions :)

A good slave girl must...

  1. Go to the gym at least once every 72 hours, and must not let her weight fall above 12 stone.
  2. Give her master respect by calling him by an honorific title.
  3. Ask permission to speak, question, masturbate or come.
  4. Give an audible answer when her master asks her a question.
  5. Do what her master says without hesitation.
  6. Give her master a meaningful hug and kiss when she meets him anywhere.
  7. Shave at least once a week.
  8. Be contactable at all possible times.
  9. Consult her master with any big decisions, including (but not limited to) posting content on the Internet, spending large sums of money, homework and course decisions and decisions about socials.
  10. Be open and honest about her feelings.

Girls, girls, girls

Ever since Sean and I started to talk about having a girlfriend to share, I've been noticing the girls around me more...

... There's one girl, around a year older than us, who we both like. She's a little skinny, but her long brown hair and pleasant manner more than make up for it. The only problem is she has a long term boyfriend... Do you think he'd mind?

... I met my old flat mate from halls last week. I love to be around her, she makes me feel so good about myself. She's looks awesome, and actually inspired this story I wrote in April. I found out a while ago that she's bi... Do you think she could be my first?

... When I went on some job training, I met a girl I had never had the pleasure of meeting before. We got on really well over the coffee break, but never met again after that. Then, a few days later, she found me on a social networking site. Her sexuality? Bisexual. It'll be interesting, because that's what mine is listed as too... Could something develop there?

Where would she fit?

After the excitement yesterday, today I have been thinking more about a comment left on yesterday's post: "...and this begs the question, how will the girlfriend fit into your D/s dynamic (ideally)?" (Thanks to persephone)

The very night that Sean first brought up the topic of having a girlfriend for us to share, he asked whether I'd prefer a dominant girlfriend or one who would also be subordinate to him. The answer was easy - I'd want her to be in my position too. To me, it feels completely unnatural for a woman to be dominating. This goes completely against my every day interactions with most women - I surround myself with dominating people, men and women alike. But I always wonder if, deep down, the dominating women really just want to give up the control. [There is one exception, something I'll go into another time, which is when a woman has the Princess Complex. But that's for another day.]

So I think I'd be much happier if she was submissive, ideally willing to give up control and wanting to be pleasing... just like me really. This doesn't mean that she can't have problems with what she wants to do - I have problems too. I'd just want her to be willing to try to solve them. I'd want her to be fulfilled by acts of submission and service. I guess I'd want her to have the same mind set as me - open and honest, willing to try things out but also not afraid to say if something really isn't working for her.

In an ideal world, she'd be able to move in with us and she'd share my house-hold chores and our bed. Perhaps she'd be on my University course; that way we'd be able to support each other through our studies, and we'd also have the same timetable. That'd mean that we'd be able to divide every thing up really well between us when it came to looking after the house. That'd also mean that things like cooking would be quicker - we'd be home at the same time and able to get dinner on the table when Sean walks through the door. Part of me wonders if all that time together would be a good thing; but then if I got on with her as well as I get on with Sean, it'd be no problem at all - we are talking about the ideal situation, after all.

It would mean that Sean would have an extra slave to discipline... but I think he'd enjoy it more than anything. Two reddened bums are better than one, don't you think? I also think there'd be some more order to it all - as she'd be able to tell Sean when I've been bad (and vice versa). It'd sort of make it more official. And as for the sex side of things... In an ideal world there'd be very little jealousy - only the kind that makes things more interesting and intense. I think if Sean spied a stolen kiss between me and our girlfriend he'd be rather hot under the collar for the rest of the day. There'd be that extra zing to our relationship. And of course, that relationship would be three ways instead of two. That'd mean that he would be able to have sex with her just like how he does with me. Again, in an ideal world, it'd turn me on. As I think I referred to when talking about slaves, it's best to leave a sex slave wanting more; and having two slaves would allow Sean to do that more effectively.

So far, all of this sounds great. We just need to be weary of the green eyed monster, as not everything works as it does in the ideal world. We still have no idea of how to go about finding someone we both like who is both into us and willing to try a little D/s. This is all fun to talk about, but in the real world it's probably going to take at least a few months before we find someone to share our relationship with - and even then there may be problems... we have, for example, never slept with any one else (either as a couple or separately), we are both still rather young too.

But in theory, this is most definitely something I'd love to try.

Excitement

Last Saturday, Sean and I went to the library with some of his friends to catch up on some work. The work at Uni is really piling up now, and that's the main reason I haven't been posting so frequently folks. I do try, and I think Sean wants me to be more frequent now.

So anyway, there we were waiting for one of Sean's female friends to come back and join the group when Sean turns to me and tells me how much he likes her ass. The statement didn't really surprise me at all. In fact, it gave me a chance to voice my opinion of her - I like her a lot. I love how she looks and how she is around me (all smiles and compliments). The very act of Sean commenting on her allowed me to realise for myself how much I like her... and once I had realised that I could go on and think some rather naughty thoughts about her. She occupied my mind for the rest of the day, both when she was around me and later when we all went our separate ways.

A while ago, Sean and I were talking about our future together. The discussion last week about marriage got us thinking more about the potential morbid things that could happen. Along with the "I'd want you to be happy if anything happened to me" talks, we also mused over what may happen if Sean has to go and work in America for a while after he graduates. I'd still have a year at uni to go. We've been in a long distance relationship before, but that time it was 60 miles. That's nothing compared to the 5,000 plus miles we'd have to endure. We were joking about how he'd be able to control my PC over the Internet, and also about a new product he's recently spied: A vibrator that can be remotely controlled over the Internet. Scary stuff. He'd also have full access to a webcam set up on my machine so he could spy on me whenever he wanted. I joked that he'd be able to "pop in" to see which girl I'd be sleeping with that week... and as I was laughing he said, "well actually..."

It turns out that he's been thinking of me being with another girl for some time, and while he'd be happy for me to have a girlfriend if something happened that prevented us from being together, I've also found out that his previous uncertainty about me being with a girl in his presence has waned. To the extent that last night, when I was lying on his chest, he said, "I think we should get a girlfriend". My heart leaped! I couldn't believe it! He was most certainly being sincere, and now all day today I've had my eye on all the hotties I saw around me.

If we're going to get a girlfriend, there's going to have to be some changes around here. Nothing major, just all the usual things that need to be changed when someone gets back "in the game". I want to tidy up the house (We're not dirty people, but we are messy. There's laundry absolutely everywhere!), and I need to learn to shave regularly. Just little things like that.

Oooo I'm all excited! Can you tell?!

Vanilla marriage Vs D/s power exchange

Well, well, well, dear readers. I've been very quiet for the last couple of weeks, and for that I'm very sorry. The new academic year started this month, and it's been hard to juggle offline life, let alone having time to see to things online. Now things are settling down a bit more, I think I'll be able to get back to writing posts at least three times a week, hopefully more (when I started this blog I wanted it to be every day, but writing about yourself in detail each day is rather draining)

What's been happening these last few weeks?

As I think I mentioned in passing a while ago (and expanded upon in my other blog), Sean and I have had a couple of problems lately, communication being one of them. The other is my want to have a family. It's something I've been battling with a lot over the last year or so, but recently I've wanted to just give up uni and have a baby and get married and live happliy ever after. This isn't going to happen. There's no way it would work out the way I want it to. Plus, Sean is going to be self employed when he graduates this year, I have a year to go (and probably will stay on in education after)... we'll have no where near enough money to look after a baby.

But I want one. I want to be married. I want to be a stay at home mum and have lots of children and have Sean go out to work and have dinner on the table when he comes home at night, with the kids in bed ready for him to read them a bedtime story.

It struck me a couple of days ago how much I was thinking about this, and in a way it made me rather upset. I wondered why I craved a marriage and children. A wedding certificate doesn't count much these days - the average marriage in this country (UK) lasts less than 9 years. Excepting the more morbid aspects of rights if one of us dies, a marriage really doesn't top what Sean and I currently have. Sean realises this, and tells me that we're going to wait. I'm less rational.

The thing that's bothering me the most though is this question. Why do I crave these essentially vanilla concepts, when what I have at the moment with Sean (A growing 24/7 D/s relationship) is more meaningful, more committing and has a more positive impact on the both of us than a marriage would?

Delving into D/s: Types of slave

I said a while ago that I'd like to take a look at some rules others have come up with to use in their D/s lifestyle. Before I do that, I'd like to explore different roles found in D/s first. For the purposes of this post, and many to come after it I'm sure, I write about a male dom and a female sub. This is by no means a judgment upon other dynamics, it's just this dynamic that I'm familiar with.

Now, we've all heard of the three types of people: dominant, submissive or switch. As has been discussed before, there are different kinds of submissive, and it is the specific role of 'slave' that I want to explore today.

There is a vast difference between being submissive and being a slave. Being a slave is the act of taking submission to a whole new level: living at your Master's feet, pleasing them, being intuitive so that you don't have to be told more than twice to do or not do something. A slave will find great comfort in being controlled (mastered, if you will), and will find a great peace when she is with her Master.

Essentially, there are three types of slave. One person may be just one type, another may be all three. It depends upon the person, and also what the dominant wants out of the relationship.

Three types of slave:
1) Business Slave
2) Domestic Slave
3) Pleasure Slave

The business slave is the one you will read the least about when reading online journals. This is a person who will happily take on tasks for the dominant that are related to work. Often, the dominant owns his own business, and the slave will take care of the mundane paper work, accounting, organising or other activities that otherwise eat up the dominant's time. The slave will often be employed by the company, therefore having a salary. This by no means de-values the slave's position as submissive. It's often hard to recognise duality of the slave's life - dominance in work, submissive in nature.

The domestic slave is one who takes great pride in looking after the home. She is tidy and organised, and is often a brilliant cook (whether she is a natural or had be to taught, she still enjoys it). There is nothing more satisfying for her than welcoming the dominant into his tidy, warm home after a day's work, with dinner about to be served.

The pleasure slave is the type most heard about when reading online journals. This is the type many submissives strive towards. A pleasure slave understands that her reason for being is to please the Master in all things sexual. Ideally, a pleasure slave will never be fully satisfied, so that she is always ready for sexual use or service. The slave has no say in when, where, nor who with; this is all up to the Master, who also has the responsibility to make sure the slave's safety is not compromised.

What would I like to be? Ideally, I'd love to be both a sexual and domestic slave. These are things that, in the long run, I'm aiming for. Even if in the end Sean finds he doesn't want to be a full-blown Master, I'd still love to be intuitive enough to give him what he wants in bed, and to let him feel that he can take it when he pleases. I'd love to be a proper domestic worker - keeping a safe, clean home. That's something I really need to work on (standards around here have dropped since we started back at Uni). I want to become a good cook. I want to get into a routine of cleaning and cooking (with a sensible menu) so that it doesn't have to change much when we have children. Oh yeah, I do want to have children. I want us to be in a stable relationship, with no problems. This is something that, ultimately, I think our application of D/s will achieve.

The Weekender #7: Gifts

This weeks question comes from David:

Is there anything about the whole BDSM 'scene' that bothers you?

Well. I've spent a long time trying to think my way through this one, as there is something that bothers me a lot about the BDSM scene. However, I think it's something that'll annoy quite a lot of people out there... so much so that I deferred the question by a week to try to come up with an answer.

Here it is. The thing that bothers me about the BDSM scene is large numbers of submissives who proclaim that their submission is a gift to their dominant. Many of these people, in my mind, are only offering their submission with several strings attached... Yes, in a very real sense a gift is given "without compensation", but those who proclaim their submission as a gift, also proclaim it as something they can chose easily to give and take away.

I have always felt submissive. Not only in the sexual sense, but in every day living. When there were arguments, I tried my hardest to resolve them, often feeling like I was the one in the wrong when I was trying to state my point of view, and often submitting to the other person to "make them happy". I have always wanted to please my parents, often taking my mother's odd mannerisms to keep her from becoming displeased with me. Even now, there are many things I do to try to keep the peace and please my significant other - I cook, I clean, I do the washing when he can't, I remind him of things, I plan his diet so he doesn't feel ill, I try to offer solutions to his problems. To me, all of this is part of my submission to him. All of this is part of who I am.

To say that all of that is something that I chose to give him, and something that - should he mistreat me - I'll be able to take away again doesn't sound true. All of those actions, even down to cleaning (which I don't enjoy), are actions that I do to please him. I don't do them because I feel that I am giving to him, I do them because I want to be cherished, I want him to be pleased with me... and maybe I'd get a reward. Therefore, these actions are not a gift, they are done with a goal in mind - even if that goal is as simple as "the house will be tidier, and HE will be pleased with me". I think that if we ever do break up, I'll find it extremely hard to take my "gift of submission" back again, it's something I'll always be giving him - if not in house-hold chores then in respect when I meet him - and it'll be something that'll be very hard to break.

Further more, I find that those who proclaim their submission as a gift are those who expect even more in return. To quote one example, "Oh, I could never give myself to someone who doesn't love, respect and care about me. Someone who doesn't want to take care of me forever, solve my problems, give me roses every week, is always romantic, never demanding and who wants to marry me too. To this man, I'll give my submission," Read through that statement again, admittedly taken out of context (this isn't the author's view), and you'll see that actually there are many strings attached to the "slave's" submission - even the rather vanilla strings of "is always romantic" and "buys me roses every week".

One thing that I find I want to conclude is this: if submission is a gift, then so is friendship in general. So is marriage, and so is dominance. In each of those scenarios, the one who is giving is also getting something in return, be it a mutual friendship, teamwork or someone willing to be dominated. After-all, who is a submissive if she doesn't have any one to submit to?

I feel that there is much more that I want to say, but can't find the right way to say them. There is one part of the "gift theory" that I appreciate - it makes the consentual part of the relationship clear. This is something that shouldn't be forgotten. At the end of the day, a dominant has no right to force his submissive to stay in the D/s relationship. To sum up, I'll once again refer back to a blog named "Submusings" written by KrynInterrupted: “The submission is the dedication and commitment that makes the power exchange possible. That is the gift because it’s given freely and whole-heartedly.

Mmmmm....

I feel like I am drunk. Really drunk. I haven't touched alcohol in over a year. So why the drunkenness? Well, Mel just gave me awesome head. Awesome. She knelt infront of me, put her arm right round my bum, aligned my balls and lower shaft with her boobs, bent her head over and took the head of my cock in her mouth and then pushed me into thrusting using her arms. I had her hips between my knees, I felt one with her. And boy did it feel good?!

Afterwards I just wanted to sleep, so we cuddled up on bed and Mel slept for 10-20 minutes before I made her get up to go cook my dinner.

Now I am all sleepy. Life is good.

Sean.

Tee hee

Isn't alcohol great? This is the second time in 24 hours that I've been just a little tipsy. I can feel it in my legs. Sean's just finished braiding my hair. And it looks really cool. I think I'm going to say thanks by giving him a very good blowjob, with a little (or a lot) of boobie action.

This is just an update to say why we've been a little quiet. The full explaination is on my other blog - here. Let's just say that we think we're over it. So all is good.

I hope to sit down tomorrow and write out the beginning of my answer to David's question for the weekender ("Is there anything that bothers you about the BDSM scene?") Don't forget if you have a question, you can go ahead and ask it and we'll endevour to answer it.

And now, I'm going to let my tipsy-ness get the better of me and say goodbye before the typos are too bad to correct!

xxx

Hehehe I wonder how long it'll take to come through on Sean's RSS? He's on his PC right now. Probably wondering why I'm taking so long to "thank" him. ...

Definitions

This is something I've been meaning to sit down and do for a long time. This post holds a set of definitions, intended as a list of the terms you might encounter when reading about any aspect of the BDSM lifestyle. It is by no means an exhaustive list, and I intend to add to it over time as I learn more.

BDSM & Associated terms

APE - Absolute Power Exchange.
BBW - Big, Beautiful Woman.
B&D - Bondage & Discipline.
BDP - Border-line Personality Disorder.
BDSM - Catch all acronym, comprising of Bondage & Discipline, Domintion & Submission, Sadism & Masochism.
Bottom - The person who recieves during a scene. Eg they may be the one who is tied up, or the one being spanked etc. They may also be a masochist. Unlike a submissive, a bottom may give instructions to the top about what happens in a scene, and when certian activities may be performed.
CBT - Cock & Ball Torture.
CNC - Consentual Non-consent.
Dominant - Often shortened to Dom (male) or Domme (female). A partner who takes the role of giving during a scene, often incorporating many top tendancies. A dominant will often also take the role of carer or teacher for their submissive, and the role often extends outside the scene.
D/s - Dominition & submission (Note the capitalisation, often used to donate "rank" or respect).
Gor / Gorean - People who follow practises as set out by John Norman in his Science Fiction novels "The Chronicles of Gor".
Masochist - A person who takes sexual pleasure out of recieving pain, they will often (though not necessarily) take the role of bottom or submissive during a scene.
Master - Also known as Mistress or possibly Dominatrix if female. The dominant role in a power exhange relationship, where the master takes "control" of the submissive for a large proportion of the time the couple are together. Thus the difference between a dominant and a master is the degree of dominance. It must be noted that the role does not extend to power over the submissive's legal rights. It can also be noted that a master may have more than one submissive under his "control". Also, many people gain a sense of power or servitude during a scene by referring to the top as "master", though this must not be confused with the daily role of a master.
M/s - Master & slave relationship (Note the capitalisation, often used to donate "rank" or respect).
OTK - Over the Knee - a position used during spanking scenes where the spankee is literalty bent over the spanker's knee.
O/our - usually written by a submissive when referring to both her/himself and her/his dominant. Read as "our" (Note the capitalisation, used to donate "rank" or respect).
RACK - Risk-aware, Consentual Kink.
Sadist - A person who takes sexual pleasure out of inflicting (causing) pain, they will often (though not necessarily) take the role of top or dominant during a scene.
Scene - A BDSM encounter between two or more people. Although usually erotic, there may be no sexual contact between the participants.
Shibari - a type of Japanese bondage, often very decorative.
Slave - The submissive role in a power exhange relationship, where the submissive has given the right to their dominant to exercise authority over them. Thus the difference between a submissive and a slave is the degree of submission. It must be noted that the role does not extend to giving up legal rights. Also, many people gain a sense of power or servitude during a scene by referring to the bottm as "slave", though this must not be confused with the daily role of a slave.
S&M - Sadism & Masochism or sado-masochism.
SSC - Safe, Sane and Consentual.
St Andrew's Cross - a human-sized piece of bondage equipment in the shape of St Andrew's cross, can be free standing or fixed to the wall, with restraints along it's length to use on the bottom.
Submissive - Often shortened to sub. A partner who takes the role of recieving during a scene, often incorporating many bottom tendancies. However, unlike a bottom, a sub doesn't expect to give orders during a scene; indeed many subs enjoy giving up "control". The role of submissive is often extended to outside the scene, and often will carry out orders that aren't of a sexual nature, Eg house-hold chores.
Top - The person who gives during a scene. Eg they may be the one who ties someone else up, or the one giving the spanking etc. They may also be a sadist. Unlike a dominant, a top doesn't have "control" over a bottom's actions outside the scene.
TPE - Total Power Exchange.
Violet Wand - a device used to apply low current, high voltage static electricity to a person
W/we - usually written by a submissive when referring to both her/himself and her/his dominant. Read as "we" (Note the capitalisation, used to donate "rank" or respect).
YKIOKIJNMK - Your kink is OK, it's just not my kink.
Y/your - usually written by a submissive when referring to another D/s couple. Read as "your" (Note the capitalisation, used to donate "rank" or respect).

Revamping our rules

This week's Weekender Question comes, once again, from David:
Is there anything about the whole BDSM 'scene' that bothers you?

I haven't had very long to think about this question, and I think I'm going to have to defer it to next week. I have an answer, but not one I can properly back up at the moment. My answer will probably anger quite a few submissives out there, and we don't want that unless I can give well explained and researched reasons for my point of view. So I'm going to mull over it for the rest of the week and then on Sunday I'll write down my thoughts, well explained or otherwise.

So, to keep you all entertained, and to give a point to this post, I'm going to go a little into what's been happening over the last few weeks. Both Sean and I have been through a bit of a rough patch, but we've come out on top. We've been together for six years, and in that time we've had a couple of rough patches. Mostly, they've been due to the feeling of "being in love" disappearing. I don't really want to go into it here, here isn't the place. If you want to read more about it, you can read about it on my Black Dog Blog (Also called "Mel's other blog" in the sidebar). In the end we managed to open up the communication channels - a thing that has been closed between us for too long - and the result of that is that we're now more able to talk to each other openly, even about very serious issues. That's something that is essential in this lifestyle, we think. After last week's Weekender ("Where do you want to be in five years time?") I had been thinking about Sean's point that he wants "a much larger list of rules that we have both agreed upon". I've been wondering about what sort of thing would constitute as a rule.

We currently have five basic rules, and they serve as a basis for a subtle change in the way we both live our lives. As Sean has put it recently, he wants our rules to be generic, to be the way the law should be: There should be a small list of generic rules (Eg "Don't kill people"), which gets expanded upon in a separate rule book (Eg "Don't kill, but it is okay to kill if you're a soldier"). So at the moment, our rule list is rather generic, easy to remember and perhaps not in detail enough. This is probably what inspired the comment on the current rules post from a person who, rightly, chose to remain anonymous: "Poor amateures...". Of course we're amateurs! (I'll leave my ranting to be put in another post. Perhaps the one that I'll be writing on Sunday...)

I look around at various websites and lifestyle blogs and I see many submissives or masters who post a huge list of rules. Some total to more than 100 individual rules. I'll gladly sit there and read them, take on board some of them as they seem to be a good idea, and then disregard the rest and spend my time wondering if the submissive actually manages to keep to all of them all of the time. Of course, for spankos, perhaps the idea is that they only keep to some of them some of the time... but then where is the respect in this? I'd want a list of rules that, given time, I'd be able to keep to all of the time. Rules, in my mind, are there to make life easier for both the master and the submissive. I'd happily have some rules that tell me what I should be doing each day. But, as I've realised recently, I thrive on regime so while it'd suit me to live that way it probably wouldn't suit many others.

Well, two new rules that we have come up with, which need to be refined before they are added to the list, are:

  • I must shave at least once a week, or more if there's a special occasion that demands it, or Master asks. I'm not big on keeping myself smooth, so this will be a challenge for the first couple of weeks. By the way: read here about how to keep yourself from getting razor burn "down there".
  • I will sleep on the floor once a week. During my birthday celebrations, I slept on the floor at Sean's feet and found out that I really enjoyed it. He also enjoyed a very good night's sleep. So each Sunday that's what I'll be doing. If I've been a bad girl, I may even be bound. We chose Sunday because Sean has a 9 o clock start on Monday, while my Mondays are lecture free
Like I said, they need some work but in the end they'll be added to our list. I think possibly a new weekly/fortnightly feature we'll run for some time is exploring D/s rules, either by me finding rules pages and writing my own opinions about them, or by readers telling us about their rules and what they mean to them. I might even approach some bloggers who I read regularly to get their opinion. I think this would be a good exercise. (And making it a weekly feature means I can't skimp out of doing it.)

So if you're in a D/s relationship, why don't you share your rules and your reasons behind them? I know I'd like to read your responses, and with your permission I'd like to expand on it. You can give your opinions in the usual way: leave a comment or send a mail.

Can't wait to hear from you!

That's a nice curve you've got there!

Sean took this photo this morning*. It shows of a side of me you've never seen before. Do you like it?

This weekend, we're letting you take the lead in The Weekender. Is there something you want to know? About us, about the lifestyle, about our history, about knot-tieing... Ask away. We'll post our response this Sunday.

Here are some previous Q&A:

The Weekender #6: How far will this go? (Part Two)

It's my turn to answer Deb's question:

I am curious as to how far you will take this? Say in 5 years where would you like to see yourselves as far as being Master/sub? Are you working towards a goal in training or something like that? Is there a place you want to be at in the future in this?

This is something I've been giving some thought, and having read Sean's response, I feel I can now answer fully.

My main goal, not only in submission to Sean but in everyday life, is to get over my depression. I first recognised that I had depressive tendencies when I was 19. However, it took me a long time to come out of denial and recognise it as a problem - so I think I had been depressive since I moved towns, which was when I was 16. During that period in my life I became withdrawn, my self esteem went to the rock bottom, my confidence and personal hygiene with it, I had no direction (even though I was doing A-Levels, I wasn't really into it), I slept all the time and - in the latter stages when I was 19 - I spent a couple of hours each night crying without a reason. It took me a long time to realise that I had a problem. When I did, Sean confided in me certain problems he'd been too afraid to tell me about before. The main problem was that our sex life had dwindled away, and in the end we solved that by lots of talking and eventually starting this blog. The other problems have been harder to fix, but we're getting there. In fact, the biggest problem we have only recently tackled, and hopefully resolved (This isn't the time to go into it, but basically we've just managed to massively open up the communication channels between us again).

So, I'm hoping to be able to reset myself, if you like, to how I was before the black dog bit me. I'm hoping that Sean will be able to guide me away from self-destructive thoughts and behaviours by laying down some ground rules and helping me stick to them. I'm the type of person that thrives on having a daily and weekly routine, and I believe that if I can work one out then I'd be a much 'better' person.

In five years time I want to be in a stable environment (we would have both graduated by then and be settled in jobs... hopefully), having a daily routine that lets me both look after the house and please Sean. I would have just celebrated my 26th birthday, and so by then we'll probably be thinking about marriage and possibly starting a family. So even though the environment would be stable, it'd by no means be boring!

Has M/s got a place in a newly-wed relationship? I think so. I'd so very much like to have the lines "love, honour and obey" in my wedding vows, though I think it's something I think my mother would frown upon. But by then, I wouldn't care so much about what she thinks as I am my own person.

That's another point I'd like to make before I finish. I do not want to come to the stage where I become a doormat. From what I've read that's not the point in becoming a slave anyway, so that's reassuring. I just want to be pleasing to my master and iron out any mannerisms that annoy him and learn new ones that he finds pleasing. I also found these rules a while ago. While I think I'll write some more about them at some other time, perhaps when we decide to add some more to our collection, I'd just like to point out now that I love the idea that some of these rules point out. The master that wrote them wants his slaves to be feminine and sexy, to do everything as a lady and with grace and do it in such a way that other women realise how good it is to submit to such a powerful man. I'd love to be able to do that. We'll just have to see.

Oh, and one more thing (This post is dangerously close to becoming a stream of consciousness), I'd love for Sean to get something out of it too. I'd love for him to become a stronger willed man, one who isn't going to be pushed around and talked into things. I really do hope that he gets something like that out of this M/s relationship too.

Well, I'm done.
Good night all.

The Weekender: How far will this go?

Thanks to Deb this week for her question:

I am curious as to how far you will take this? Say in 5 years where would you like to see yourselves as far as being Master/sub? Are you working towards a goal in training or something like that? Is there a place you want to be at in the future in this?

Well, today, we have decided to each respond to the question. So, me first.

I'm really not sure. As we mentioned before, we don't really have many limits yet, because we haven't taken it far enough. Mel still has yet to use a safeword, despite me being harder and harder with her. Though it turns me on, my upbringing tells me it is wrong to hit a girl, so I find it hard, even though Mel wants it.

I think Mel and I are taking it slowly, exploring. We don't really have a direction yet, though I think we are getting nearer to having one. We only have 5 basic rules, which can be found here. Addressed in the rules are things that we both want. For example, Mel must go to the gym frequently. She must stay under a certain weight. This is not because she is overweight, but because we both don't want her to become overweight. I'm not into skinny girls, nor am I into big girls. I like mine around Mels size (corny as it may sound). She is a size 12-14 (thats American 10-12, Mel informs me).

I love the size of her breasts, for example. They are lovely, and full, and round, and bouncy, yet they are still small enough to be very firm and not even the slightest bit saggy. In the UK we have a newspaper called "The Sun" which has, on page 3 of every edition, a topless woman. Having worked in a corner shop (and prior to that, been a paper boy), I have seen my fair share of these page 3 girls. They're all quite lovely, but there are few of them who's breasts compare favourably to Mel's. I used to think this was because she was so young, but as she has turned 21 now, and she still beats these models, some of whom are 18, I am very impressed.

Anyway, I feel I have diverged from the question, so I will try and stop thinking about Mel's perfect boobs and go back to what I was saying...

... Oh yes. Rules. So there is the gym one, to keep us both happy about her looks, and also to keep her fit and healthy, which in turn should keep her on top of stress and suchlike. There is also the "audible answer" rule. This is a rule to change Mel's behaviour, for the better. She must give an audible answer to me whenever I ask a question. Nodding is not good enough. It must be audible. To me.

There are very few things I want to change about Mel, but one of them is some of the mannerisms that she has got from her mother. Mel's mum is a lovely lady, and I get on fine with her. But there are still things about her that rub me up the wrong way, for example she seems to have very strong opinions, with very little room for alternatives. I now can stand up to these, and hold my own, as I have been with Mel for long enough. But in the early days, I didn't want to for fear I would not be able to see Mel so much. So I held my tongue.

One example is the statement "Errr!". Not a questioning "Umm" or a pause in speaking "er...", but a forceful, you are doing something wrong, "Errr!". The exclamation mark is almost pronounced! Mel did this to me once, when I was closing a door, not realising that she wanted to go through it. It's the sort of sound that should raise a guilty feeling. However, from Mel it raised anger in me, which I unleased vocally immediately: "You are not to speak to me like that! That is how your mother speaks and it is highly disrespectful. I have done nothing wrong and I will not have it from you. Do you understand?"

Mel cowered, and nodded, pausing only slightly before remembering to say "yes" before I noticed that she didn't give an audible answer. I am pleased to say that I did not have to give her any punishment (it is my mind that a slave doesn't deserve punishment if she does something that she doesn't realise is wrong, unless she has already been told about it). She has not done it again since, knowing that her bottom will really smart if she does.

Another Mel's mum thing is the statement "Thats a bit much." What a useless statement. It doesn't convey any reasoning behind why you disagree. Just that you disagree. I think it is given by a gut reaction that says "don't like that," but has no reasoning or justification to back it up. It is never elaborated upon, it is almost seen as a conversation stopper. I hate it. Mel said it to me once since moving in together, and she has not said it again.

OK, I must stop talking about the past and start on the future...

... In 5 years time, I want a very obedient, happy and loving slave. I want Mel to do her chores and clean up behind herself without me having to tell her to. I want her to become a tidier, more organised person, more for her sake than mine. I want her to be open and honest, and not afraid to share her mind, no matter how dark her thoughts. I want her to ask for my guidance when she needs it, and to really listen to the advice I give. I want a much larger list of rules that we have both agreed upon. I want to know that any concerns that either of us have can be openly expressed and discussed, and be solved between us.

Many of these goals are already mostly met, many need working on. But I am happy with progress, and I look forward to being able to marry Mel, knowing that no matter what happens, we will always have each other, and all problems will be solved before they really become problems at all.

In answer to the question: we will take this as far as we are both comfortable and happy with, and no further. We do not yet know where that limit lies.

Sorry for all the divergences, I hope this answered the question! And remember: we do not have a question yet for next weekend, so get those comment juices flowing! Ask anything, we ain't shy!

Mel will type out her answer to the question tomorrow, but now we are going to bed ;)

Good night all (or morning, afternoon, evening, depending on timezone!),

Sean.

Shaven Haven

Isn't it just?

Yum...

I love my shaven slave. Head is just so much easier to give! And more enjoyable too!

Night all,

Sean.

It's time for YOU to take the lead

The weekender is coming up and we don't have a question to answer!

Sean and I have decided that it's time for us to let you take the lead. I sit here each night trying to think of things to write, and in the end we just don't know how well it'll go down. That's why this weekend we're giving you the opportunity to ask us a question. It can be anything you like from, "How did you meet?" through to elaborating on a post I've written. There are a few exceptions, we won't give out our address for example. But those sort of exceptions are hopefully obvious. We'll post our answers here on Sunday / Monday. We generally answer questions in the order we recieve them, and let them queue up.

Like I've already said, we never know how well a post will go down, so show some support and ask what ever is on your mind. You can leave it as a comment or e-mail me at mels.smblog@googlemail.com if you want to remain anon.

Here are the previous questions. Was there one you felt we didn't answer fully?
